Eli and I like to play with Lego together. Lego is my favorite engineering toy. A good collection of Lego Technics is sort of like a game-console for mechanical engineers. When you get good with it you can build devices just about as fast as you can think. I've built many small machines, and I've even come up with a few things that were useful in my research. I have also been informally teaching kids engineering with Lego, such as the basics of how clocks work. I wrote and distributed a little application that enables Lego robots to be controlled over the web, and several pages use it for telerobotics. Here are a few of my favorite projects.

I can work metal too, but it isn't as colorful.
